Overview:

As investment in retrofit and sustainable development accelerates, housing providers need confidence that works are designed, delivered and performing as intended. This workshop will explore where quality risks and defects are emerging, how organisations are assuring work across the delivery lifecycle, and whether PAS 2035 and existing governance arrangements provide sufficient control to protect investment and customer outcomes.  We will hear from Clarion Housing Group on the research they have done into retrofit performance work and Mantle Law on the risks of new build development defects and energy efficiency performance.

Meeting objectives:

• Share practical approaches to quality assurance at design, installation and post-completion stages.
• Examine how defects are identified, managed, learned from and prevented.
• Consider whether PAS 2035 is delivering consistent quality assurance in practice.
• Explore the risks and implications of the gap between designed and in-use energy performance.
• Identify the governance, roles, resources and information needed to provide assurance that works meet the required standard.
